Hands at the helm.
Russell S. Gilfix
Principal & Portfolio Manager
Russ Gilfix is Principal and Portfolio Manager of Wind & Rose, the firm he founded to put a single, disciplined strategy behind portfolios built for the long term. He leads the firm's daily research and assessments, drawing on a working life spent across technology and teaching.
He holds an interdisciplinary degree from Colby College, spanning biology, sociology, psychology, and philosophy, completed under the guidance of Professor Jonas Rosenthal. His thinking has been shaped by a deliberately diverse set of influences across science, history, and philosophy, from Kant and Einstein to Markowitz and L. Francis Herreshoff.
A lifelong sailor, Russ has spent decades coastal cruising in traditional sailboats, including three crossings from New England to Bermuda. The same attention to shifting conditions guides how he steers client portfolios. He is the steady hand at the helm: he sets the bearing, then keeps it.
Luke Dunsby
Growth Manager
A decade-plus driving growth for businesses across multiple industries. Luke leads how Wind & Rose connects with the people best served by the firm's strategy.
His path runs through high-performance sales and a principal seat at a venture and capital-raising firm, where he worked with founders on funding strategy, investor relations, and growth positioning. He holds a Series 65 (Registered Investment Advisor Representative) and has over ten years of experience managing sales teams and driving market strategy, with a keen eye on AI and the technologies reshaping how firms reach the right clients.
Outside the firm Luke explores underwater caves. The same instinct draws him there as runs through his work here: clear thinking under pressure, and curiosity about what lies beneath the surface.
